2024 Yobe State World Humanitarian Day Celebration: Yobe State First Lady’s Foundation Supports Patients at Yobe Specialist Hospital
To mark the 2024 World Humanitarian Day (WHD), the Ma’aruf Foundation, founded by Yobe State First Lady Hajiya Hafsat Kollere Buni, collaborated with Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA). This partnership aimed to support patients at the Yobe State Specialist Hospital’s Nutrition Stabilization Centre in Damaturu. The initiative provided much-needed aid to patients’ parents and caregivers, demonstrating the Foundation’s commitment to complementing government efforts in healthcare support.
Represented by Dr. Mairo Ahmed Amshi, Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Buni urged the beneficiaries to use the aid responsibly and called on other stakeholders to emulate such acts of generosity. The event saw participation from key figures, including representatives from SEMA, UN-OCHA, and other partners, highlighting the spirit of humanitarian action in Yobe State.
