62,000 Pupils Sit for Free 2024 Common Entrance Exam in Kwara, Parents Praise Governor AbdulRazaq’s Educational Reforms
A remarkable 62,000 Primary Six pupils participated in the 2024 common entrance (placement) examinations for admission into public Junior Secondary School One across the 16 Local Government Areas in Kwara State. The exam, fully sponsored by the state government, underscores Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s unwavering commitment to improving the quality of education in the state.
The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, who monitored the exercise in various centers including Ilorin, Oke-Ero, and Ekiti LGAs, expressed her satisfaction with the smooth and peaceful conduct of the exams. She praised the timely commencement and the seamless organization of the process, which reflected the state government’s dedication to education.
Hajia Modibbo Kawu lauded Governor AbdulRazaq for his visionary leadership, which has transformed public education in Kwara into a model of quality learning. She emphasized that the state’s full sponsorship of the transition examination from primary to junior secondary school demonstrates the governor’s deep concern for the welfare of every Kwaran child, ensuring that no student is left behind in accessing education.
“As you can see, everything is hitch-free and going on well. Kudos to the state government and the Ministry of Education for ensuring excellent preparation and a seamless exercise,” the Commissioner noted. “This administration places education at the forefront, ensuring that every child has access to qualitative education.”
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Rebecca Olanrewaju Bake, also commended Governor AbdulRazaq for the prompt release of funds for the examination. She encouraged teachers across the state to continue their efforts in supporting the government’s mission to revitalize the education sector.
Parents, represented by Mrs. Aisha Ahmed, expressed their gratitude to the state government for conducting the examination in a conducive environment and fully sponsoring the exercise. She noted that the care and attention given to their children during the exam were exemplary.
The Commissioner’s team visited several centers, including Junior Secondary School, Agbe-ola Oro; St. Anthony’s Secondary School, Ilorin; Babalola Memorial Grammar School, Odo-Owa; Iloffa Grammar School, Iloffa; and others in Oke-Ero and Ekiti LGAs.
