63th Independence: Governor Bago of Niger Advocates for Unity and Hope
The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called for unity among the people of Niger State and all Nigerians during the celebrations of the 63rd Anniversary of Independence. The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, during the ceremony at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna, stressed the importance of unity as a key tool for peace and development. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence is essential for the prosperity of the nation and the realization of its essential goals.
Governor Bago encouraged citizens to contribute to nation-building and called on governments to work towards improving the living conditions of citizens. “I also appeal to Nigerlites to maintain hope and resilience, offering prayers for the success of the current administration,” Bago added.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, and the Speaker of the State Assembly, Abdulmalik Muhammad, have commended the country’s significant achievements despite the challenges.
The event was attended by senior government officials, state security chiefs, members of the State Executive Council, representatives of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, and APC leaders, among other dignitaries.
