Adapting for Devotion: Borno Gov’t Adjusts School Timings for Ramadan

0

In response to the holy month of Ramadan, the Borno State Ministry of Education directs primary and secondary schools to amend their academic schedules. The move, aimed at accommodating fasting students and teachers, sees schools closing by noon instead of 1.30pm. The directive ensures minimal disruption to educational activities while honoring the religious observance of Ramadan. Schools are instructed to complete the second term’s academic activities, including examinations, by March 29, with holidays scheduled from March 30 to April 28. The third term commences on April 29, aligning with the state’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural respect.
