Artisans, Traders Laud Kaduna for Relaxing 24-Hour Curfew
Business owners in Kaduna have expressed their gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for revising the 24-hour curfew imposed on Kaduna and Zaria. The curfew, originally enforced due to the hijacking of the #EndBadGovernance protests, has been adjusted to a 14-hour period, now in effect from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. daily. This revision allows citizens to resume their daily activities and has brought relief to many traders and artisans.
Ibrahim Yusuf, a metal fabricator, shared that the initial curfew had severely impacted his work, delaying the completion of a project and postponing his payment. He expressed hope that the return to normalcy would be sustained, emphasizing the importance of both government responsiveness and public adherence to the law.
Similarly, trader Bello Dallaji noted a significant increase in patronage since the curfew was relaxed, as customers have been returning to purchase essential goods. Kudirat Moshood, a provisions shop owner, mentioned that she was able to restock her inventory, meeting the demand of her customers in the community even during the restricted hours. The relaxation of the curfew has provided much-needed relief for business owners, enabling them to continue their operations and support their livelihoods.
