Benue Governor Pledges Continued Priority for Workers’ Welfare

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State reaffirms his commitment to prioritize the welfare of workers in the state on the occasion of the 2024 May Day celebration. He acknowledges the significant contributions of workers to the overall development of Benue and pledges to ensure prompt payment of salaries, clearance of owed arrears, and addressing issues of promotions and allowances. Governor Alia aligns with the theme of this year’s Labour Day, focusing on “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” by highlighting efforts such as renovating the State Secretariat and providing a dedicated transformer for a conducive working environment. He urges workers to uphold transparency, compassion, accountability, and sincerity while delivering in their assigned roles and remaining apolitical.
