Benue State Government’s Bold Steps to Alleviate Water Scarcity at Ortese IDP Camp
In a collaborative effort, the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) and the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment, and Climate Change are actively addressing water scarcity at the Ortese IDP camp. The Acting Executive Secretary of BSEMA and the Commissioner for Water Resources assessed Hirnyam Dam, demonstrating the government’s commitment to providing daily water for the IDPs through community engagement.
During a visit to Ortese IDP camp, the Ag. BSEMA boss emphasized the importance of water for the displaced population, assuring them of the government’s dedication to permanently resolving the water supply issue. The government acknowledged and commended Medicines Sans Frontiers for their sustained intervention in health, water, sanitation, and hygiene at the camp.
