Benue State Prepares to Launch Local Security Outfit, Receives Vote of Confidence from APC Stakeholders
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has announced plans to launch a local security outfit comprising ten thousand youths by the end of May 2024. This initiative, aimed at enhancing community safety and combating security challenges, underscores the government’s proactive approach to safeguarding the well-being of residents.
During a Stakeholders Meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Government House, Makurdi, Governor Alia reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to providing adequate resources and support for the security outfit. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies in ensuring the nation’s security.
Governor Alia emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and stakeholders in addressing security concerns, noting the urgent need to secure Benue communities and facilitate agricultural activities. He assured stakeholders of the government’s proactive measures to counter emerging threats and restore peace and stability across the state.
In response, APC stakeholders passed a vote of confidence on Governor Alia, acknowledging his exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of Benue State. They expressed solidarity with the government’s initiatives and pledged their support towards achieving lasting progress and prosperity for the people of Benue.
The Deputy Governor, Barr.
