The Benue State Urban Development Board, in collaboration with the Bureau for Education Quality Assurance (BEQA), plans to demolish 2,100 unapproved and substandard schools to improve educational standards.

Dr. Terna Francis, BEQA’s Director General, announced that this initiative targets illegal institutions lacking accreditation. He urged schools with completed recertification to collect their certificates, formalizing their status.

Francis commended parents for prioritizing quality education and praised schools for maintaining satisfactory academic records. He encouraged students to focus on excellence and advised school owners to avoid imposing unnecessary fees.

The public was also informed about the 9-3-4 education system, aligning with federal standards.
