Cross River and Ebonyi Forge Alliance to Promote Border Peace and Security

In a bid to foster peace and security along their shared border, the governments of Cross River and Ebonyi states have joined forces to sensitize communities against land encroachments and prevent bloodshed. This collaborative effort aims to mitigate longstanding boundary disputes and ensure the safety of residents in border communities.

The agreement, reached during a meeting between officials from both states, underscores the commitment of Deputy Governors in Cross River and Ebonyi to engage in proactive measures pending the delineation of boundaries by the National Boundary Commission. Through community sensitization and joint security patrols, the states seek to avert further loss of lives and property.

Recognizing the urgency of restoring peace, the deputy governors have pledged to expedite boundary delineation processes and engage with relevant authorities to address boundary disputes effectively.
