Cross River Government Schedules Pension Verification for Gratuity Payments
The Cross River State Government has announced verification exercises for pensioners across all 18 Local Government Areas. The verification will cover retirees from state and local government services between 2009 and 2015.
According to a press release from the Permanent Secretary/Secretary of the Gratuities Payment Committee, Orok Bassey Okon, the schedule is as follows:
– Southern Senatorial District:
– Calabar Municipality, Bakassi/Akpabuyo: August 19-22, 2024, at the Municipal Council Secretariat.
– Calabar South: August 23, 2024, at the Calabar South Secretariat.
– Odukpani: August 19-20, 2024, at the Odukpani Council Secretariat.
– Akamkpa/Biase: August 21-23, 2024, at the Akamkpa Council Secretariat.
– Mop-up for the Southern zone: August 24, 2024, at the Calabar Municipal Council Secretariat.
– Central Senatorial District:
– Yakurr/Abi: August 19-21, 2024, at the Yakurr Council Secretariat.
– Obubra: August 22-23, 2024, at the Obubra Council Secretariat.
– Ikom/Etung: August 19-21, 2024, at the Ikom Council Secretariat.
– Boki: August 22-23, 2024, at the Boki Council Secretariat.
– Mop-up for the Central Zone: August 24, 2024, at the Ikom Council Secretariat.
– Northern Senatorial District:
– Ogoja/Bekwarra: August 19-20, 2024, at the Ogoja Council Secretariat.
– Yala: August 21-22, 2024, at the Yala Council Secretariat.
– Obudu/Obanliku: August 19-22, 2024, at the Obudu Council Secretariat.
Retirees are advised to attend the exercise between 8 am and 5 pm daily, bringing two passport photographs, original documents including appointment letters and promotion letters, BVN printout, and bank statements. The Committee emphasized that no retiree will be verified by proxy and warned against impersonation, which will result in arrest and prosecution.
