Cross River State Launches Strategic Plan to Combat Viral Hepatitis

Cross River State, in collaboration with health development partners, unveiled a comprehensive 3-year thematic plan aimed at combating the prevalence of viral hepatitis within the region. Governor Senator Bassey Otu, represented by Commissioner for Health Dr. Henry Ayuk, emphasized the state’s unwavering commitment to eradicating this public health challenge.

 

The strategic plan, launched amidst key stakeholders and international organizations, outlines targeted interventions to raise awareness, mobilize resources, and implement preventive measures against viral hepatitis. With a prevalence rate of 8.9%, Cross River State recognizes the urgent need for concerted efforts to address this health crisis.

 

Dr. Victor Adepoju of Jhpiego Nigeria reiterated the organization’s dedication to collaborating with the state in executing the strategic plan effectively.
