The Cross River State Government, led by Governor Bassey Otu, has launched a groundbreaking program to train technicians on converting petrol vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG) to support affordable and eco-friendly transportation. The initiative aims to alleviate the financial impact of fuel subsidy removal by offering CNG as a cost-effective alternative.

Transportation Commissioner Pastor Ekpeyong Cobham shared that this training will empower local technicians to contribute to the state’s energy transition, with the first batch of 50 conversion kits already received. Governor Otu’s administration is committed to expanding CNG infrastructure, making travel more affordable for residents.
