Ebonyi Government Resolves Gratuity Debts for 2,099 Retirees
In a commendable move towards honoring its obligations, the Ebonyi State Government has successfully cleared the outstanding gratuities of 2,099 retirees spanning from 1996 to 2023. The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Chikadibia Okpor, disclosed this in a statement, highlighting the government’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its retired workforce.
The statement revealed that a total of five billion, thirty-six million, two hundred and eleven thousand, one hundred and four naira, and six kobo (N5,036,211,140.6) had been disbursed to settle the accumulated gratuities. Governor Nwifuru’s administration, in particular, demonstrated proactive leadership by ensuring the timely payment of these dues, thereby alleviating the financial burdens faced by retirees.
The successful conclusion of this gratuity clearance initiative reflects the government’s dedication to fulfilling its responsibilities and honoring the service of its retired employees.
