Ebonyi State Commended for Timely Release of N200 Million Agric Fund
The Ebonyi State government has been praised for releasing a N200 million counterpart fund to support the 11th International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP).
During a press briefing in Abakaliki, Babatunde Adebayo from the Federal Ministry of Finance acknowledged the state’s proactive financial commitment. This funding will enhance agricultural interventions for local farmers.
While inspecting ongoing projects, the IFAD team noted significant progress but highlighted the need for timely budget approvals to optimize farming cycles. Musa Dalang, IFAD-VCDP specialist, emphasized that the mission aims to strengthen the state’s agricultural capacity.
Sunday Ituma, Ebonyi’s IFAD-VCDP coordinator, appreciated the team’s support, ensuring readiness for future missions.
