Ebonyi State Empowers Women Through Entrepreneurship Training
In a positive stride to commemorate the 2024 International Women’s Day in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, the State Ministry of Women Affairs, in collaboration with the Office of the Wife of the Governor, has orchestrated a capacity-building workshop. The training targets the wives of government functionaries and female appointees, aiming to bolster their entrepreneurial skills and leadership prowess.
Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru, the esteemed wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, expressed her enthusiasm while inaugurating the program in Abakaliki, the state capital. She emphasized the significance of the workshop in empowering Ebonyi women, recognizing the latent potential within each participant.

The event featured insightful sessions led by esteemed resource persons, including Professor Uzor Okoye, Professor Adline Idike, and Dr. Nancy Agha, covering topics such as general ethics, women entrepreneurship, etiquette, and protocol. As the theme for this year’s International Women’s Day resonates, ‘Count Her In, Invest in Women, Accelerate Her Progress,’ Ebonyi State sets a positive example of empowerment and progress under its proactive leadership.
