The Ekiti State Government has earmarked N314.5 million for the acquisition of furniture, office equipment, laptop computers, and other essential tools for state workers. This decision, announced by Commissioner for Information Taiwo Olatunbosun, aims to enhance the efficiency of selected workers across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to facilitate better data collation and evaluation of the government’s activities. Additionally, the State Executive Council approved N112,268,921 for the procurement of 20 single 12CBM Dino Bins with rollers to bolster waste management efforts. The decision to directly acquire these bins was based on the collaboration between Ekiti State Waste Management Authority and Lagos State Waste Management Authority. The move is expected to address the increasing volume of waste generated in Ado Ekiti due to urbanization. A committee has also been instituted to formulate a comprehensive framework for enhancing environmental sanitation practices in the state.
