Ekiti Commissioner Urges Peaceful Conduct Ahead of Local Government Election

In anticipation of the forthcoming local government elections in Ekiti State, Mr Kehinde Ajobiewe, the Commissioner for Transportation, has fervently called upon residents to maintain peace and avoid any form of violence during this electoral process. Scheduled to occur across the 177 wards, 22 local councils development areas (LCDA), and 16 local government areas of the state on Saturday, December 2, 2023, the commissioner emphasized the importance of a peaceful atmosphere before, during, and after the polls.

During a meeting with stakeholders in the transportation sector in Ado Ekiti, Mr Ajobiewe urged commercial drivers and motorcycle riders to refrain from actions that could disrupt the peace during this crucial electoral period. He stressed that the current administration, under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, is unwaveringly committed to maintaining peace and fostering development within the state, recognizing that progress thrives in a peaceful environment.

The commissioner highlighted the indispensable role peace plays in achieving meaningful development, urging all citizens to embrace a peaceful conduct to ensure the success of the local government elections.
