Ekiti State Focuses on Cultural Revival and Economic Development
The Commissioner for Art and Culture in Ekiti, Mr. Ojo Bakare, announced the state government’s initiatives to diversify its economy by harnessing the potential of the creative arts and cultural resources. Governor Biodun Oyebanji approved the immediate implementation of economic development initiatives, talent promotion, and cultural heritage promotion. The initiatives include an endowment fund program to support artists, talent development through training programs, and the construction of a state-of-the-art cultural center in Ado-Ekiti. The government aims to make Ekiti a weekend destination, reinforcing traditional festivals for economic empowerment and hosting the Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture.
