Ekiti State Government Rolls Out Maize Distribution to Livestock Farmers as Palliative Measure

Ekiti State Government has finalized plans to distribute 10,000 bags of maize to livestock farmers as part of its ongoing palliative efforts. Addressing the initiative, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, emphasized the importance of supporting livestock production amidst rising feed costs. The distribution, scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024, aims to alleviate the financial burden on farmers and stimulate livestock production. Boluwade stressed the non-sale provision of the grains, urging beneficiaries to utilize them as vital livestock feed. Warning against misuse, he highlighted the scheme’s objective to enhance agricultural sustainability and mitigate economic challenges faced by farmers. The event, slated to commence at 11:30 am at the ADP Office in Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti, signifies the government’s commitment to supporting agricultural resilience and ensuring food security.
