Ekiti State to Invest N600 Million in Power Infrastructure
The Ekiti State Government, under Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s leadership, is set to invest N600 million in power interventions for the year 2024. Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Niyi Adebayo, disclosed this during the presentation of the N159.5 billion budget, themed “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Development.” The allocation includes N300 million for the purchase and installation of transformers, N150 million for rural electrification in Igede Farm Settlement and Oye Local Government Area, and another N150 million for extending the Independent Power Project. Governor Oyebanji’s administration aims to enhance electricity supply, fostering economic growth and supporting industries and small businesses. The budget also covers infrastructure projects, including road constructions, rehabilitation, and public building renovations, emphasizing the government’s commitment to overall development and job creation.
