Former Atiku Supporter Leads Massive Defection to APC in Jigawa State
Audu Mahmood, the pioneer and former director-general of PDP New Generation, alongside thousands of his followers from Garun Gabas Ward and across Mallam-Madori local government area of Jigawa State, have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mahmood, who played a pivotal role in mobilizing thousands of youths for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the last 2023 elections, cited the remarkable achievements of Governor Umar Namadi as a driving force behind their decision to join the APC.
In a statement, Mahmood emphasized their commitment to supporting the development and progress of Garun Gabas Ward, Mallam-Madori Local Government, and Jigawa State as a whole. He pledged to abide by all the rules and regulations of the party and to contribute to enhancing the APC’s standing in their ward, local government, state, and country.
The grand reception for the defectors was attended by dignitaries including the governor of Jigawa State, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Senator Mustapha Makama Kiyawa, and other APC chieftains, signifying a significant political realignment in the state.
