Gbugbu International Market Revitalization: Kwara State Government Champions Economic Development

The Kwara State Government is spearheading the transformation of the Gbugbu International Market in Edu Local Government Area with the inauguration of a dedicated 5-Man Implementation Committee. Led by the Commissioner for Business, Innovation, and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, the committee is tasked with overseeing the market’s modernization and fostering socio-economic growth.

Hon. Damilola stressed the values of transparency and dedication among committee members, ensuring a seamless implementation process. With a commitment to meeting the aspirations of the people, the state government is dedicated to upgrading and promoting economic activities by remodeling and redesigning ancient markets across the state.

The committee comprises esteemed individuals from various sectors, including the Director of Commerce, representatives from the Revenue Service and Local Government, as well as community leaders. Their collective goal is to ensure the efficient utilization of facilities provided by the government for the benefit of the Gbugbu community and other stakeholders.

Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Services, Mrs. Shade Omoniyi, urged the committee to diligently adhere to work plans and terms of reference, emphasizing the importance of smooth implementation to prevent any delays or disputes. The project has received commendations from various quarters, including the Edu Local Government Chairman, Transition Implementation Committee, Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu, who hailed it as a significant catalyst for socio-economic development in the state.

Acknowledging the governor’s visionary leadership, representatives from the Edu Emirate Council expressed gratitude to Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for elevating the Gbugbu market to international standards, thus ushering in a new era of prosperity for the region.
