Gombe Governor Pioneers Green Bond Funding for Sustainable Development
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has taken a groundbreaking step towards securing green bond funding for environmentally friendly projects. In a strategic move, he engaged with investors, capital market experts, and stockbrokers at the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX). The governor’s objective is to source funds for projects aligned with international climate change policies, focusing on afforestation programs, solar energy initiatives, and agricultural sector expansion. The governor aims to raise N30 billion, with an initial request for N15 billion, emphasizing Gombe’s peaceful environment and transparent governance as key attractions for investors.
