Gombe State Enhances Power Supply with New Feeders

The Gombe State Government in collator the Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JED) inaugurated two 33KV feeders in Billiri town, Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State, aiming to bolster power supply across four local government areas. Abdu Mohammed, the Managing Director of JED, assured attendees at the launch that the project, initiated in 2016 by the federal government, would significantly enhance electricity delivery to the region.

Mohammed emphasized the far-reaching effects of this initiative, foreseeing improved power stability, economic development, and better social amenities for the people in the served localities. He highlighted the project’s potential to create job opportunities and increase revenue for the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

While acknowledging the state government’s support and Senator Anthony Yaro’s contributions, Mohammed urged stakeholders to capitalize on the upgraded supply by establishing an industrial hub in the region. He emphasized community responsibility in protecting the facilities against vandalism, urging residents to safeguard their newly acquired asset.

Sale Mohammed, Mai Kaltungo, praised the joint efforts of the federal and state governments and the Jos Disco in addressing the long-standing power supply issues in the area.
