Gombe State Governor Approves Significant Intervention Fund
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the release of 693 million Naira for the third batch of intervention under the GO-CARES Programme. This allocation, facilitated through the Gombe State Agency for Community and Social Development, reflects the state’s commitment to improving communities’ well-being.
The General Manager of the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Mr. Haruna Ahmed Imam, praised Governor Yahaya’s support, highlighting Gombe State’s exceptional performance among participating states. The funds will support various projects covering health, education, nutrition, and water across seventy-seven additional communities.
Participants from various local government areas appreciated the Governor’s initiative, acknowledging its direct impact on grassroots communities lacking basic amenities. The General Manager urged project committees to uphold standards, monitor project execution, and ensure sustainability, emphasizing the need for completion within specified timelines and standards.
The Agency’s proactive steps, including Needs Assessment and Participatory Rural Appraisal, align with the commitment to community-focused development. The impending Community Project Launch aims to further consolidate these efforts, building on the successful completion of similar projects in 35 communities in prior phases of the GO-CARES Programme.
