Gov. Alia Praises Renovation Progress at Aper Aku Stadium
Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing renovation work at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi. During an unscheduled visit on August 3rd, 2024, Governor Alia commended the progress and urged the contractor to complete the work on schedule, ensuring that Lobi Stars FC can host their home matches at the stadium for the 2024/2025 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Governor Alia highlighted the importance of the stadium as a valuable government asset and emphasized that the completed facility will meet FIFA standards, aligning it with modern stadiums worldwide. He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to revitalizing moribund industries in the state to boost economic development.
Mr. Ebi Ezekiel Ebe of Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Limited, the contractor for the renovation, assured that the project would be completed within the stipulated time and according to the required specifications.
