Gov Idris Joins in Workers’ Day Celebration with Novelty Football Match
In a show of solidarity with the hardworking citizens of Kebbi State, Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, attended a spirited novelty football match organized by the State branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC). The match, held at the FIFA mini Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, was a highlight of the 2024 Workers’ Day festivities in the state.
Despite ending in a goalless draw between the State Executive Council team and State Labour Congress officials, Governor Nasir Idris commended both sides for their sportsmanship and maturity throughout the game. The match, officiated by Hon. Bello Yakubu Rilisco, Chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), provided a joyous occasion for workers and government officials alike.
Accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, Alhaji Sufyanu Garba Bena, the Head of Service, and other dignitaries, Governor Idris enjoyed the festivities, demonstrating his commitment to celebrating the contributions of workers to the state’s progress.
After recently returning from a Peace and Security Symposium in America, Governor Idris’s participation in the Workers’ Day event underscored his dedication to engaging with and supporting the people of Kebbi State.
