Governor Abdullahi Sule Refutes Claims of Suppressing Free Speech
Reports alleging the arrest of individuals at Kini Country Home in Akwanga, following an incident involving Governor Abdullahi Sule, have been categorically refuted by the Governor’s office. The response comes after claims circulated on social media, accusing the Governor of ordering the arrest of staff who reportedly chanted “two months to go” during his departure from the venue.
Emmanuel Innocent Akwe, the Personal Assistant on Media to Governor Sule, dismissed the allegations as unfounded propaganda propagated by opposition elements. He reaffirmed the administration’s respect for the constitutional right to freedom of speech and clarified that no directives were issued for any arrests.
“The assertions made are devoid of truth and serve only the interests of those who wish to see this administration portrayed in a negative light. Governor Sule upholds democratic principles and respects citizens’ rights to express their views,” Akwe stated.
In the face of ongoing seemingly political turbulence, the media aide assured the people of Nasarawa that Governor Sule remains undeterred and focused on his developmental agenda for the state. He emphasized the Governor’s resilience amidst criticisms and reaffirmed his commitment to utilizing challenges as stepping stones for building a robust future for the state.
“Governor Sule is set on his mission to advance the state’s progress. He is neither swayed nor discouraged by detractors. Instead, he is motivated to transform their stones of contention into milestones of development for the benefit of all,” Akwe added. The office of the Governor appreciates the continued support of well-meaning residents and urges the public to maintain peace and harmony, looking beyond divisive tactics at this pivotal time.
