Governor Abiodun Seeks Understanding Amidst Economic Challenges
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has called for patience and understanding from Nigerians, emphasizing that the Federal Government needs time and support for its economic policies to positively impact citizens. Speaking during the inauguration of the Governing Council of the Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science, and Technology in Ijebu-Ode, Governor Abiodun praised students and youths for their law-abiding conduct and constructive engagement during the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests.
Governor Abiodun acknowledged the current economic challenges and assured that both state and federal governments are responsive to the demands of the citizens. He emphasized that the well-being and welfare of the people are priorities and that the government is committed to addressing their concerns. He appealed for continued patience, noting that the implementation of policies to reposition the economy takes time.
The governor also highlighted that the economic challenges faced by Nigeria are not unique and can be overcome through collective efforts. He urged the newly inaugurated council members to use their expertise to uplift the college and complement the administration’s efforts towards building a better future for the state.
Chairman of the Governing Council, Mr. Wole Sowole, expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to contribute to the institution’s development, pledging to justify the confidence reposed in them by the state government and the people. Governor Abiodun emphasized the importance of the council members’ adherence to their oath of office and the need for positive developments during their tenure, aligning with the vision of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.
