Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has authorized the distribution of bursaries and scholarships for students from Ondo State attending tertiary institutions and Nigerian Law Schools. The announcement was made during a student stakeholders’ meeting held at the Cocoa Conference Hall in Akure.
The meeting was attended by leaders from various student associations, including the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Association of University Students (NAUS), National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), and the National Female Students Association, among others. Governor Aiyedatiwa confirmed that the disbursement process has begun and will be completed in the coming weeks.
In addition to addressing financial support, the Governor responded to concerns raised by student leaders about the provision of buses for student organizations, improvements in campus electricity and security, job opportunities, and the establishment of polling units on campuses. Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the students’ peaceful conduct and pledged to address any additional requests from student leaders promptly. Representatives from various student organizations, including NAOSS President Hammed Oyelade, NANS Ondo State Chapter’s Abiola Victor, and others, voiced their support for the Governor and committed to avoiding any planned protests within the state.
