Governor Aiyedatiwa Clarifies Aides’ Appointment Controversy
In response to recent media reports, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has disavowed claims that he rejected the appointment of 273 aides made by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN. The governor clarified that the attributed statement was false and apologized for any confusion it may have caused. He explained that the appointments were solely for honorary advisory roles to support judicial reforms in Ondo State, emphasizing that the appointed lawyers, including Senior Advocates of Nigeria, would not receive financial remuneration or employment benefits from the state government. Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the appointed lawyers for their voluntary contribution to the state’s progress.
