Governor Aiyedatiwa Pays Tribute to the Late General Arogbofa

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa honored the memory of the late General Jones Arogbofa (rtd) as a patriotic figure dedicated to the nation’s advancement across various roles.
Governor Aiyedatiwa conveyed these sentiments during the funeral ceremony of the late general, held at Owase, Oka Akoko in Akoko South West local government area of the State, where he joined other dignitaries in paying respects.
In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa extended heartfelt condolences to the Arogbofa family, highlighting the deceased’s remarkable contributions during his military career and tenure as Chief of Staff to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Acknowledging the profound loss felt by the family, Oka community, Ondo State, and the nation, Governor Aiyedatiwa encouraged attendees to celebrate the fulfilling life General Arogbofa lived.
“While we mourn his passing, let us find solace in the comforting words that ‘blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted’,” stated the Governor, emphasizing the need to trust in divine support during times of grief.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also visited the residence of Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa, the late general’s elder brother, to offer condolences and reassured the commitment of his administration to uphold the vision of the state’s founding fathers.
Expressing gratitude for the Governor’s visit, Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa lauded the ongoing efforts of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration and pledged the support of the Elders to aid in its endeavors.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, represented by former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, also paid tribute to General Arogbofa’s exemplary service, urging the family to find solace in his enduring legacy.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, and other members of the entourage, concluded the day with a visit to the residence of community leader Rtd Colonel Roland Omowa, symbolizing the government’s commitment to community engagement and support.
