Governor Alia Champions Electoral Integrity: BSIEC’s Mandate for Fair Polls
In a demonstration of his commitment to democratic principles, Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia charged the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) with conducting free, fair, and credible local government polls that accurately reflect the will of the people.
During the inauguration of the Commission’s Chairman and members, Governor Alia emphasized the importance of upholding electoral integrity and transparency. He pledged the government’s full support in ensuring the independence and effectiveness of BSIEC.
Governor Alia urged all stakeholders to collaborate with BSIEC to ensure the success of democratic processes in Benue State. He commended the Commission members for accepting their crucial role in laying the foundation for democracy and urged them to fulfill their duties with diligence and integrity.
In response, the Chairman of BSIEC, Dr. John Chen, assured Governor Alia and the people of Benue State that the Commission would uphold the highest standards of electoral conduct, ensuring free, fair, and credible polls that accurately represent the will of the electorate.
