Governor Alia Facilitates Commissioning of 15 Motorised Boreholes, Enhancing Water Access in Benue Communities
A jubilant atmosphere filled the air as the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zaphaniah Jisalo, inaugurated 15 motorised boreholes in select communities of Benue state. Funded by the National Lottery Trust Fund, these boreholes, part of a wider project, aim to provide clean and accessible water sources to underserved areas.
Representing the President, Minister Jisalo lauded the Trust Fund’s efforts, emphasizing the transformative impact of these 15 motorised boreholes across Tarka and Gboko LGAs. He stressed the significance of water projects in curbing diseases and improving community health, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing lottery legislation for sustainable growth and impact.
Bello Maigari, the Executive Secretary/CEO, affirmed the completion of all 15 boreholes, expressing commitment to extending this laudable initiative to communities nationwide. Maigari reiterated, “Our goal is to ensure access to clean portable water, combating diseases, and improving the wellbeing of communities across Nigeria.”
Addressing the community representatives, including Mr. Moses Tarka, Maigari highlighted the pivotal role these boreholes play in overcoming water scarcity challenges faced by residents, ensuring a healthier and more prosperous future for all.
