Governor Alia Reaffirms Authority as APC Leader in Benue, Ensures State Stability
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has reaffirmed his position as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining law and order. This statement comes in response to an alleged announcement by the former state chairman of the party, Mr. Austin Agada, regarding a State Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 15th, 2024.
Governor Alia, denying any knowledge of the purported APC State Executive Committee meeting, has called off the event, stressing that any unauthorized gatherings could disrupt the peace in the state. “As the APC leader in Benue and the Chief Security Officer of the state, no meeting can be convened without my consent,” Governor Alia stated.
He further underscored that both Benue State and Nigeria operate under the rule of law, and any attempt to undermine state authority will not be tolerated. “Those who think they can challenge the state’s authority must be aware of the consequences and uphold peace,” Governor Alia warned.
Governor Alia’s decisive actions underline his commitment to ensuring that all political activities in the state are conducted within legal boundaries, thereby safeguarding the stability and security of Benue State.
