Governor Alia Responds to House Resolutions on BSIEC Leadership
His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has received a communication from the Benue State House of Assembly, which includes a resolution for the removal of Dr. John Chen from his position as Chairman of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC). The Assembly cited Dr. Chen’s lack of good judgment and actions not aligning with the public interest as reasons for this resolution.
Governor Alia has accepted the Assembly’s resolution and directed Dr. John Chen to hand over his responsibilities to the Administrative Secretary of the Commission. This decision reflects Governor Alia’s commitment to upholding integrity and ensuring the Commission operates in the best interest of the state.
