Governor Alia Seeks Collaboration with Journalists to Showcase State Projects
In an effort to counter negative press surrounding the state, Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia expressed his administration’s willingness to collaborate with journalists. During a meeting with the Conference of Benue Journalists (CBJ) at the Government House in Makurdi, Governor Alia announced plans for joint tours of government projects, aiming to enhance journalists’ understanding of initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens and fostering economic prosperity. He commended the CBJ for their contributions toward Benue’s development, urging journalists to serve as positive ambassadors while countering misinformation from media outlets.
Additionally, he encouraged members of the state executive council to leverage the group’s presence to showcase their ministries’ activities. The Governor’s dedication to elevating the state was reiterated by the Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Matthew Aboh, who also emphasized Governor Alia’s commitment to further elevate the state’s status. Dr. Emmanuel Anule, President of CBJ, commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for his efforts and urged sustained support for state employees’ welfare and security enhancements.
