Governor Alia’s Stance on Security Concerns Praised
In a commendable show of unity, Benue State’s National Assembly Caucus, led by Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, recently emphasized the importance of collaboration between the federal and state governments, as well as security agencies, in addressing the security challenges in the state. They rightly highlighted the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding the lives and property of Benue residents.
During the discourse, concerns were raised regarding the security situation in various local government areas, including Agatu, Apa, Guma, Makurdi, Gwer West, and Otukpo. While there were criticisms aimed at Governor Hyacinth Alia, it’s heartening to see political leaders prioritizing the safety and well-being of the people over partisan interests.
The proactive stance taken by the legislators was underscored by APC senatorial candidate, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, who cautioned against politicizing matters of human life. He rightly pointed out the importance of focusing on constructive dialogue and action rather than engaging in blame games.
Furthermore, it’s encouraging to note that Governor Alia has been actively engaging with security forces to address the root causes of insecurity. By fostering collaboration and seeking solutions, the governor is demonstrating his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
