Governor Biodun Oyebanji Unveils Ambitious Ado Ekiti New City Project
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has launched an ambitious plan for the Ado Ekiti New City Project, aiming to create a modern, well-planned residential area alongside the historic city center. The announcement was made during the commissioning of three newly constructed roads in Ado Ekiti: Jimoh Aliu-Adewumi Road, Hospitals Management Board/Doctors’ Quarters Road, and Obisesan-Oke Ala Link Road.
Governor Oyebanji highlighted the ongoing development with 16 road projects and the renovation of 11 general hospitals across the state. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the new roads by keeping drains clear of refuse to prevent waterlogging and damage. The governor also praised the completion of the Ring Road project, which connects Iworoko Road with the International Agro Cargo Airport, as a crucial step in developing new areas while preserving Ado Ekiti’s traditional character.
In his address, Governor Oyebanji assured that Agric Olope Road and New GRA Extension Phase One Road will be inaugurated during the second anniversary of his administration in October. The construction of Faglo-Basiri Road in Ado Ekiti is also underway. The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, Aladesanmi III, and other dignitaries participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremonies, with widespread support from residents, landlords’ associations, transport unions, and community leaders.
