Governor Buni Unveils Ambitious Empowerment Plan for Yobe State
In an inspiring announcement, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has disclosed his administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering economic development through the equitable distribution of empowerment programs. This revelation occurred during the kickoff of the Yobe East Senatorial campaign rally at Damaturu’s 27th August stadium on Monday.
Despite the challenges posed by the global economic crisis and the impact of the Boko Haram insurgency, Governor Buni reassured the public of his administration’s dedication to fostering self-reliance. Drawing parallels to the successful employment of over 2,600 youths with degree certificates, the governor announced an extension of such support to individuals in agriculture and business sectors.
Governor Buni outlined an inclusive plan, targeting 15 farmers and 15 entrepreneurs in each of the 178 wards for empowerment. The goal is to empower them to become self-reliant and contribute to the progress and economic growth of Yobe State.
Emphasizing the significance of this program, the governor highlighted its role in rejuvenating the state’s economy, especially in the aftermath of the decade-long Boko Haram insurgency. Governor Buni expressed confidence in reaching out to the citizens, particularly the youth, through these initiatives.
While calling for massive public participation in the upcoming bye-election, Governor Buni showcased his commitment to the welfare of the people. Musa Mustapha, winner of the APC primary election for Zone A, is set to replace former Senator Ibrahim Geidam, whose appointment as Minister of Police Affairs led to the senatorial bye-election.
