Governor Buni’s Proactive Border Patrol Meeting with Service Chiefs
Yobe state Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, is taking proactive measures to ensure the security and safety of the state’s borders. Following the recent state Security Council meeting in Damaturu, Governor Buni is set to meet with the Chiefs of Army and Air staff to discuss critical security issues.
During the meeting, Governor Buni will brief the security chiefs on the resolutions made during the Security Council meeting and the importance of intensifying security measures along the state’s borders. Furthermore, he will seek the collaboration of the army, Airforce, and police for joint operations to clear possible Undetonated Explosive Ordinance devices in areas of concern.
Brig. Gen. Abdulsalam Dahiru (rtd), the Special Adviser to Governor Buni on Security Matters, revealed that suspected gunmen had infiltrated the state and attacked a border village. Yobe state shares common borders with Borno state and Niger Republic, prompting the swift deployment of security operatives to address this infiltration. Governor Buni expressed his condolences to the families of the attack victims and offered prayers for the departed souls.
Additionally, he directed the Secretary to the State Government to form a government delegation to visit and extend condolences to the affected families.
