Governor Buni’s Proactive Response: Yobe Strengthens Security Strategy
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, in a proactive approach to enhance the safety and security of the state, has initiated a comprehensive review of the security situation. This strategic move comes in response to recent challenges faced by border communities due to suspected insurgent activities in the Gaidam local government area.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Brig. Gen. Abdulsalam Dahiru (rtd), provided insights following a meeting of the Yobe State Security Council. It was revealed that the recent security challenges in some villages in Gaidam council were the result of suspected insurgent infiltration into the state.
Yobe State shares common borders with Borno State and has an international boundary with Niger Republic, making security a paramount concern. As a swift response to this issue, security agencies have deployed personnel to the affected areas, and they are actively studying the report to prevent future occurrences.
In a reassuring note, Brig. Gen. Abdulsalam Dahiru emphasized that calm and normalcy have now been restored to the affected village, demonstrating Governor Mai Mala Buni’s commitment to the safety and well-being of the people of Yobe. This proactive security strategy reflects the Governor’s dedication to maintaining peace and stability in the state.
