Governor Idris Affirms Support for Uhola Festival and Cultural Promotion in Kebbi State
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Uhola cultural international festival, emphasizing its significance in promoting unity and cultural heritage. At the 2024 Zuru Emirate Uhola International cultural festival and Agricultural Show, Governor Idris highlighted the event’s role in showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Kebbi State to the world.
Expressing pride in the success of the festival, Governor Idris assured the Zuru Emirate of his administration’s continuous support, pledging financial and logistical assistance to ensure the annual celebration’s continuity. He also extended his support to other notable festivals in the state, underscoring the importance of cultural promotion in fostering unity and development.
Governor Idris reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing security, acknowledging the critical role it plays in facilitating development. He outlined various measures taken to enhance security in Kebbi State, including investment in personnel, logistics, and infrastructure.
Despite challenges such as the deplorable state of the Zuru-Dabai Road, Governor Idris assured the people of his determination to address such issues and improve infrastructure across the state. He welcomed feedback and collaboration from stakeholders in realizing the state’s developmental goals.
The Emir of Zuru, Major General Sani Sami, commended Governor Idris for his support and urged further assistance in addressing infrastructure needs within the Emirate. He emphasized the festival’s theme of “Unity and Prosperity,” highlighting its role in promoting cultural harmony and socioeconomic progress.
The occasion, graced by dignitaries including Former Minister of Defence, Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), showcased Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage through colorful displays, traditional performances, and agricultural exhibitions, underscoring the importance of cultural preservation and promotion in national unity.
