Governor Namadi Brings Water to Gwari Town with Historic Water Supply Project Commissioning
Governor Mallam Umar Namadi made a significant impact today by commissioning the Gwari Small Water Supply Project in Gwari Town, a community located in the challenging rocky terrain on the outskirts of Dutse. This momentous occasion marks the end of over three centuries of inadequate access to potable drinking water for the community, which has a population of over 4,000 residents.
As part of his administration’s 12-point agenda to provide essential amenities to all communities, Governor Namadi spearheaded this project to solve Gwari’s longstanding water issues. The project, executed by the state’s ministry of water resources through STOWA, involved extensive work, including the construction and conversion of three boreholes, the building of a 90,000-liter surface tank, a 45,000-liter overhead tank on a 9-meter tower, a booster room with two vertical boosters, and the installation of 92 solar modules.
During the commissioning, Governor Namadi described the Gwari water project as a promise fulfilled, acknowledging the challenges overcome to bring this essential resource to the community. He urged the residents to utilize and protect the facility, ensuring its longevity and effectiveness.
This project not only addresses a critical need but also exemplifies Governor Namadi’s dedication to improving the quality of life for all residents in the state, particularly those in hard-to-reach areas.
