Governor Namadi Commends Successful 2024 Hajj Operations, Honors Pilgrims
Governor Mallam Umar Namadi welcomed the delegation from Jigawa State’s 2024 Hajj operations, led by the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji (Dr.) Adamu Abubakar Maje CON, who served as the Amirul Hajj. The Governor received an in-depth report on the smooth and successful pilgrimage, highlighting the state’s exceptional care for its pilgrims.
The delegation, which included scholars and local government Hajj officers, praised the state government’s support in ensuring that Jigawa pilgrims experienced seamless accommodation, food provisions, health care, and religious guidance during their spiritual journey. The Emir of Hadejia credited the state’s commitment to the pilgrims’ welfare as a key factor in the successful Hajj operations.
Governor Namadi expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s leadership, particularly commending the Emir for his experience and professionalism. He noted that this year’s operations set a new benchmark for future pilgrimages, demonstrating the state’s ability to handle Hajj with excellence.
In a heartwarming act of honesty, one Jigawa pilgrim found large amounts of US dollars, Russian currency, and Saudi Riyals during the pilgrimage and promptly returned them to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). Governor Namadi honored the pilgrim, Alhaji Abba Sa’adu, with a spot in next year’s Hajj as a token of appreciation for his integrity, urging all citizens to uphold such values.
The Governor also recognized the dedication of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, whose efforts ensured smooth travel to and from the Holy Land. The Hajj leaders from all 27 local governments presented Governor Namadi with a special honor, celebrating his role in facilitating this year’s successful Hajj operations and reinforcing the state’s reputation for excellence.
