Governor Namadi Drives Healthcare Transformation in Jigawa State
Mallam Umar Namadi, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, is committed to enhancing healthcare accessibility through strategic reforms. He has directed the review of Jigawa Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (JICHMA) Law No 07, 2019, with proposed amendments aimed at accelerating Universal Health Coverage.
The amendments include introducing employer contributions to enhance capitation for employees, expanding equity funds for vulnerable families, introducing a Vulnerable Group Fund (VGF), and extending the Community-Based Contributory Program to cover all political wards. Additionally, the Tertiary Institution Social Health Insurance Program (TISHIP) is expanding to include all tertiary institutions in the state, ensuring qualitative healthcare for students.
