Governor Namadi Initiates Hisbah Reform Committee for Enhanced Efficiency

In a proactive move to improve the operations of the Hisbah in Jigawa State, Governor Malam Umar Namadi has inaugurated a 19-member Hisbah Review Committee, with Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, as its chairman.

The committee’s terms of reference include assessing the number of Hisbah guards with justifications, their roles and responsibilities, evaluating logistics sources, and examining the effectiveness of Hisbah in upholding Islamic moral and ethical standards. Furthermore, they are tasked with reviewing the legal framework governing Hisbah’s operations and suggesting improvements.

Governor Namadi emphasized the importance of this initiative and urged the committee to collaborate with various segments of society to provide recommendations for enhancing the Hisbah’s efficiency. The committee is expected to submit a comprehensive report with findings, recommendations, and proposed legal or regulatory changes.

The Secretary to the State Government commended the governor’s commitment to upholding moral values based on Islamic teachings and expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to justify the governor’s trust.
