Governor Nwifuru and First Lady Attend Holy Mass at Government House Chapel
His Excellency, Right Honourable Builder Francis Nwifuru, GGCEHF, FNIOB, FCAI, Governor of Ebonyi State, along with his wife, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru, participated in a Holy Mass at the Government House Chapel, Ochoudo Centenary City, Abakaliki, earlier today, Sunday, August 11, 2024.
In his address to the congregation, Governor Nwifuru called on Local Government Chairmen and Coordinators of Development Centres to extend the state government’s developmental initiatives to the rural areas. He emphasized the need for leaders to engage and empower the youth, urging them to create opportunities that foster growth and development within their communities.
“The Governor is providing a conducive environment; it is your responsibility to ensure the same for those in rural areas,” Governor Nwifuru stated, highlighting the importance of grassroots involvement in the state’s progress.
Regarding the state’s ongoing empowerment programs, the Governor announced that the selection of beneficiaries would be handed over to the people, ensuring that the process is transparent and inclusive. “Our 1000,000 Empowerment for 100 persons from the 13 Local Government Areas will be managed by the people themselves, without interference from government officials,” he affirmed.
