Governor Nwifuru’s Openness and Unity Efforts Recognized
Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State clarified that he never rejected the gubernatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in his government. The State Commissioner for Information, Jude Okpor, emphasized the governor’s commitment to forgiveness, accommodation, and cooperation, highlighting the governor’s efforts to unite the state for development.
Okpor explained that the governor, as a practical democrat, reached out to his opponents after winning at the polls. The governor expressed regret over the prolonged litigations, considering it an unfortunate chapter. Despite the initial rebuff of the olive branch, Governor Nwifuru continued efforts to reconcile, calling for unity and corporate action for the development of the state.
Okpor urged citizens to disregard any reports suggesting that the governor rejected accommodating his opponents or their supporters, emphasizing the governor’s ongoing commitment to unity and inclusivity in governance.
